- Biography
Deacon Lucio A. Caruso brings 35 years of parish, diocesan and Catholic agency pastoral experience to diaconal ministry. He is employed at Louisville Catholic Charities in the area of parish and community engagement. He recently directed a yearlong Catholic Charities project responding to the needs of middle-class working people affected by the economic downturn.
Caruso and his wife Therese earned their master’s degrees in pastoral theology from St. Mary of the Woods, Terre Haute, Ind. Mrs. Caruso is director of Adult Faith Formation and Marriage and Family Enrichment at St. Barnabas parish. She is also a registered nurse.
Both have been involved in lifelong service to the church as lay ecclesial ministers.
They have three children and three grandchildren, all of whom reside in Grand Rapids, Mich., the couple’s home until 2008.
