Backside Mission

A group providing assistance and services to the workers on the backside of Churchill Downs.

Christmas on the Backside 2011

Christmas comes early on the backside of Churchill Downs for workers and families entrusted with the care and tending of the racetrack’s treasured horses. This year it came on Monday, December 12, for the ninety-three (93) families – some 780 men, women and children – who, after attending church services on the backside, were treated to a special dinner served in a festively decorated hall by community volunteers.

Backside Ministry Stocking Caps

Stocking CapThank you Epiphany!

The Backside Ministry purchased 250 stocking caps to be distributed at the Holy Name Dare to Care food pantry on December 21, 2010.  One patron said "this will be my only Christmas gift this year, thank you".  Your contributions also provided a meal for the Churchill Downs backside workers on December 6, 2010.

Financial support of this ministry makes a difference in peoples lives.

Thank you for your continued support.
