Why Catholic?

For more than 2000 years, the Catholic Church has been serving, teaching, healing, and praying for people throughout the world. Why Catholic? is your chance to learn more about the sacrament so healing and about the “sacrament of others,” the vocations of marriage and holy orders.

Stand up and go, your faith has saved you!” (Luke 17:19)  Jesus told this to the leper who returned after he was healed. Now may be the time to receive that same healing from Jesus, and a Why Catholic? small group could be the best place to start. Be sure to Sign Up!

Our Community Center, with its many doors is the perfect location to re-enact Mary & Joseph’s search for a place to spend the night.

In prayer, words, and song, those walking outside seek a roomfor the night, but are continually turned away by those inside.

Finally Joseph and Mary (all outside) are invited in and celebrate together with a pot-luck meal.  (Each family is asked to bring a dish to share with others.)

A piñata will top off the nights festivities.

Why Eucharist Matters!

Where: Community Center

English speaking Catholics around the world will implement the new Roman Missal III this 2011 year, on November 27, the first Sunday of Advent. While “new” indicates upcoming changes, Deacon Lucio Caruso wants us to understand what is not changing. How the Eucharistic liturgy is still timeless. What 2,000 years of history has not touched.

Deacon Lucio (Lu – cho) Caruso is an amazing catechist (teller of the Good News of Jesus the Christ). His three week series on the Mass (you will learn what that word means in his third class) offers participants the opportunity to deepen understanding, to form themselves in our most important prayer. What grabs Lucio’s attention may not draw you. However, there is no doubt that his excitement, knowledge, and love of Mass will generate in you a greater love of the gift received through this powerful prayer.
