Obituary for Barbara Mattingly

BarbaraBarbara Joan Mattingly, 71, of Louisville, died Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at Meadowview Health & Rehabilitation Center.

She was born January 2, 1941 to Joseph Melvin and Anna Geraldine (Able) Mattingly.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Charles Edward Mattingly Sr.; and sister, Janice E. Mattingly.

Obituary for Sandor Gyimesi

orchidSandor Gyimesi, 75, died peacefully Monday, January 16, 2012.

He is survived by his wife Martha; sons, Kalman Gyimesi (Sandra) and Zoltan Gyimesi (Paula); a daughter, Ildiko Mikos (George); eight grandchildren; and a brother in Hungary, Kalman.

A funeral Mass is scheduled for 10:00 AM at Church of the Epiphany (Old Harrod's Creek Road) on Saturday, January 21, 2012.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Louisville Orchid Society or Church of the Epiphany.

Obituary for Michael Tansey

MichaelCommander Philip Michael “Mike” Tansey, USN (Ret.), 72, of Louisville passed away January 15, 2012 at his home with loved ones by his side.

He was a U.S. Naval officer, and a graduate of Annapolis Naval Academy, Class of 1962.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Major General Patrick Henry Tansey and Josephine Baish Tansey; brothers, Colonel Patrick Henry Tansey Jr., and Colonel Hubert Edward Tansey; and by his first wife, Carolyn Copenhaver Tansey.

Obituary for Kenneth J Deddens

KenKenneth J Deddens, 86, of Louisville, passed away Wednesday, January 4, 2012.

Kenneth retired from General Electric after 32 years as a cost accountant. He was a member of Church of Epiphany and the SAGES group. Ken was a former member of the Holy Name Choral Club as well as St. Xavier Alumni.

He was preceded in death by his “Angel,” his wife of 58 years, Alice Richardson Deddens; son, Richard J. “Dickie” Deddens; and brothers, Paul, Jack, Eugene, William and Fr. Norbert Deddens.

Obituary for William D Seiber

BillWilliam D Seiber, (A.K.A “Dad,” “Uncle Beer,” “Uncle Billy,” “Billy Goat,” and “Grandpa”), 78, was born July 5, 1933, married December 29, 1967 and passed away at Baptist Hospital East in Louisville on December 15, 2011.

He was a civil engineer, military pilot, football fan, Catholic, gourmand, dog lover and beloved family man. Bill loved unconditionally, laughed whole-heartedly, and was a role model to all who knew him.

Obituary for Lucile Barrickman

LucilleLucile Barrickman, 93, of Louisville, passed away on Monday, December 12, 2011 at Baptist Hospital East.

She was the former Lucile Smith. Lucile was a bookkeeper for Huber and Huber Trucking Company and retired a teacher's aide for the Jefferson County Public School System.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Barrickman.

Surviving is her son, David Barrickman; stepsons, Eddie Barrickman (Gladys) and Terry Barrickman (Ella); step-grandchildren, Rader Barrickman, Wendy Barrickman and Holly Goodaker; and two step-great-grandchildren.

Memorial Liturgy for Louise Ann Opic: December 13, 2011

LouiseLouise Ann Opic, 73, of Louisville, KY, passed away on Thursday, November 10, 2011 at the home of her nephew and niece, Joe and Vicky Calissie of Martins Ferry, Ohio.

She was born in Benwood, WV on April 6, 1938, to the late George and Cecelia Opic (Pisarcik).

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Evelyn Calissie Weigand and her nephew, Fred Calissie.

She graduated from St. Joseph's Academy in Wheeling, and was employed at Wheeling Hospital as an executive secretary for Sam Nazzarro. She retired for the General Electric Corporation after 42 years of service, having worked in their corporate locations in Cleveland, Ohio and Louisville, KY. She was a member of the GE Elfun Society, and the Church of the Epiphany in Louisville, KY. She was also very active in the Healing Blanket Ministry.

Obituary for Herman Hesen

Herman HHerman O Hesen, III, 86, of Louisville, passed away Monday, November 28, 2011.

He was a member of Epiphany Catholic Church, retired from Ford Motor Company KTP after 44 years of service and was a volunteer for Dare to Care Food Bank.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Lisa Hesen Cohn.

He is survived by his wife, Doris Reker Hesen; daughter, Carla Hesen Casper (Scott) of Connecticut; sons, Herman O. Hesen IV of California and David Hesen; grandchildren, Chelsea and Hilary Casper of Connecticut; siblings, Rizpah Blair, Helen Sue Berol and Jos Webb Hesen.
