Stewardship

Epiphany is considered a "stewardship parish," meaning that it is through a deliberate, directed decision to return our gifts to God, that the program, staffing, and all other needs are met. That is why there are no Bingos, fundraising festivals, raffles, bake sales, or second collections. We try to live out the belief that we are "stewards," and as good stewards, we return a proportionate amount to God.

A Stewardship Message from PPC President, Chuck Sgro

This message was delivered at all masses on October 22-23, 2011 as part of our annual Stewardship campaign.

ChuckI am Chuck Sgro, currently serving you as Chairman of the PPC. I need to talk to you about a situation that will have an effect on all of us, long term.

The Community of Epiphany is facing a $69,377.00 shortfall in our current fiscal year budget and we need your help. This past May, after weeks of evaluation and preparation, the Parish Council passed a deficit budget. This means we are expecting our expenses to operate from July 1, 2011 to June 30, 2012 to be higher than our anticipated income.

Passing a deficit budget is unusual, and in fact has only happened one other time in our 40 year history. After many meetings, deliberations and discernment, it was the consensus of all of your Leadership, including Staff, Members of the Finance and Administration Committee and the PPC Members that we should pass the budget with its shortfall and then address this with the Community of Epiphany and ask you to take the appropriate corrective action.

NEW in 2010: Parish Guide Book

DirectoryThe Epiphany Stewardship Committee is excited to announce that we contracted Guide Book Publishing to publish a Guide Book & Directory for our parish! This will be updated and delivered directly to your homes annually. The Book will include an explanation of each standing committee, Administration/Finance, Community Care, Formation, parish Life, Social Responsibility, Stewardship and Worship as well as list our membership.

Epiphany’s Guide Book will include the names, email and street addresses, and phone numbers of our adult parishioners. We understand that some may choose to omit some, or even all of this information. If so, please email Bobbe Moutray by August 9, 2010 with your request.

Are you registered at Epiphany?

PhoneAre you registered at Epiphany?  Does Epiphany have the latest contact registration information about your family?

Our Stewardship campaign continues to process your returns with commitment for Time, Talent, and Treasure for this coming year.  We are grateful to everyone for your generosity to the life and mission of our community through the many ways you share your time talent and financial treasure with us in service of others.

One of the goals of our Stewardship campaign is to update our contact information for each member of our community.  For those who have not yet submitted their Stewardship form with this information, we would like to reach out to you during the next few weeks with a phone call from a member of the community who will be asking simply to confirm or correct our registration information for you and your family.

This is just one more way that we hope to "stay in touch" with every member of the Community of Epiphany.  Please welcome our phone ambassadors during this season as special messengers for Christ to you and your family.

God is always with us

"And know that I am with you always, until the end of the world."
-- Matthew 28:20

God is always with us. How often are we with God?  Our relationship with God is like parents’ and other adults’ relationship with our children.  What children really want from us is our time.  The same is true of God.  Whether in our homes, at Epiphany, in the car; whether private prayer, daily Mass, Monday’s rosary, labyrinth, sacred oasis, or any other; prayer is our gift to God.

Stewardship survey

All members of the Community of Epiphany are requested to fill out the Stewardship Survey by June 8, 2009.

Stewardship

“We choose to live the Gospel of Christ with humility and compassion”

Epiphany is a Stewardship Parish - meaning:

  • Through a deliberate, prayerful, directed decision to return our gifts to God, parish programs, staffing, service to the larger community and beyond, and all other needs are met.
  • There is no need for additional fundraising.
  • We try to live out the belief that we are “stewards” and as good stewards, we return a proportional amount to God.

“We accept the responsibility of shared collaborative ministry.”
