Memorial Set for Mary Bratton on May 21, 2010

Where: Worship Center
When: Friday, May 21, 2010, 6:00 PM

Mary BrattonCommunity member Mary Bratton, 70, departed this earth on February 23, 2010, while on vacation with her three daughters. She left behind a full life, multitudes of dear friends and her family, including daughters, Kim Rylander (Black Mountain, NC), Brigitt Dingeldein (Louisville, KY), and Gretchen Baird, (Louisville, KY), two grandchildren, Drew Dingeldein and Brittany Dingeldein, and sister Cecilia Klos (Denver, CO).

Mary's life mission was "to acknowledge with love each and everyone I meet." Her life was filled with a vibrant energy that touched those who knew her. She shared a very special connection with children and cared for hundreds of them as a nanny and a teacher.

As she attested just hours before her death, "Inside this body is a three-year-old child!" Mary lived in many places and she made Louisville her final residence.

Her active life spanned many titles: wife, mother, elementary school teacher, Registered Nurse, super saleswoman and nanny to countless children. A Cuisenaire artist, Mary loved cooking for people - she was known to surprise her friends with a freshly baked apple pie delivered right to their door. Epiphanites will especially remember her unique style and spirit, many interviews and writings for the Epigram, and all the wonderful foods she shared.

A Memorial Service, celebrating and giving thanks for the life of Mary will take place on May 21st, 2010, from 6 p.m.-7 p.m., with a reception immediately following, at the Church of the Epiphany.

In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to a charity of your choice, to the Church of Epiphany, or to Louisville’s Home of the Innocents, a private, non-profit agency which protects children who have been abused, abandoned, or neglected.
