A Word From Sister Mary

Building a Future of Hope

“I alone know the plans to bring you prosperity and not disaster, plans to bring about the future you hope for.” (Jer. 29:11)

As members of a universal church, we are now being called to respond to the needs of the Archdiocese of Louisville and to the needs of Epiphany.  Those who have gone before us have laid a strong foundation of faith exhibited in the good works and ministries of this Archdiocese and here at Epiphany, our home.

Building a future of hope logoFor several months now the leadership of our Capital Campaign has been meeting to prepare for the active participative period of this campaign. These gatherings have been energizing for me, an opportunity to see the numerous gifts and skills of so many parishioners.

Our collective Lenten journey has tilled the soil of our minds and hearts. May we bring to the Capital Campaign an openness that comes from prayerful support and discernment around what God is calling us to be and do. Each of us brings to this campaign our individual struggles, our individual blessings. I ask you to daily reflect through prayer on the question our pastor has placed before us:  “God, what do you want to do through me to accomplish your will?”

Prayerful discernment will lead us to where we may have thought we would never go. Springtime is such a season of hope. May our new life in Christ these Easter days lead us to give the prayerful, communal support our Church is  asking.
