Compassionate Acts Revealed!
This is an act of compassion that was observed by a member of our community this Lent. Perhaps you have seen other such signs of compassion or been moved to act in a compassionate way this Lent. Let us pass on this sign of God’s life.
I attended two funerals for parishioners one week last month, serving as an acolyte for the liturgies. I always knew that a group of our community members provided a meal for the family and others who attend a funeral, but I had never stopped by to be part of the meal until this particular week. I was amazed at the dedication and work that goes into this somewhat unseen act of compassion at a time of sorrow. It is indeed a labor of love and a silent but stirring witness to the gospel message of “giving a cup of water in my name.”
