Reflections on Sunday’s Mass: February 14, 2010
This Sunday is the 6th Sunday in Ordinary Time. In the beatitudes we find the contradictory hope of the Jesus, who seems to say “your hope is in your poverty, your hunger, your grief… your hope is in the suffering you face…” Both Jeremiah and Paul express the tension of this contradictory hope that pulls us beyond our limited human view. In our own lives, where is the pull to hope, a hope that contradicts all that appears hopeless?
