Announcing the 2009-2010 Annual Parish Grant Process: Call for Grant Proposals

Since 1995, a portion of our communal 10% tithe has been set aside for grants to special projects designed and implemented by parishioners. The grants are intended to enable Epiphany members to carry out works of compassion, according to Gospel values of justice and peacemaking. Grant applications and overviews are available in the Gathering Area, or may be obtained from Sister Larraine.

Health Care Reform

The US Conference of Catholic Bishops urge us to call our members of Congress (use the Capitol Switchboard at 202-224-3121 to contact your Representative or Senators ) and tell them health care reform should:

  • Include health care coverage for all people from conception until natural death, and continue the federal ban on funding for abortions;
  • Include access for all with a special concern for the poor;
  • Pursue the common good and preserve pluralism, including freedom of conscience; and
  • Restrain costs and apply costs equitably among payers.
  • Reform efforts must begin with the principle that decent health care is not a privilege, but a right and a requirement to protect the life and dignity of every person.  See more at the US Catholic Bishops' website: http://www.usccb.org/healthcare/
