Memorial Day: May 25, 2009

On Memorial Day, May 25 at 10 am, we will have a special liturgy. In the gathering area is a memorial board listing the names of loved ones who have died in service to our country, to us, and we will have an opportunity to name them aloud in our prayer, as well. Bring mementos, if you like, to take up in the opening procession. Veterans are especially invited to come and participate — you may want to wear your uniform.

With our veterans, many of whom know the impact of violence and war all too closely, we will pray that the Spirit guides our world to peace. A reception will follow in the community center.

Taps

Day is done,
gone the sun,
from the hills,
from the lake,
from the skies.
All is well,
safely rest,
God is nigh.
