Parish Welcomes seminarian Adam Carrico

Greetings Everyone,

My name is Adam Carrico and as a seminarian for the Archdiocese of Louisville I will be spending my summer assigned to Epiphany to learn both from Fr. Jeff and all the good things happening here. I have completed my first year at Saint Meinrad School of Theology and I am looking forward to finishing up the two year philosophy program next year and afterwards moving into the four year theology program. My time at seminary has been equally challenging and rewarding but I have enjoyed my time there and have learned a lot about myself and my calling to the priesthood.

To tell you a little bit about myself and where I have been, I grew up at Saint Aloysius Parish in Pewee Valley and went to grade school there as well. After that I went to high school at Saint Xavier and college at the University of Louisville where I earned a Bachelors Degree of Arts in History.

The summer after my high school sophomore year I went to work at Friendship Manor, a local nursing home. I worked there for eight years starting out in the dietary department and ending up in the maintenance department. My time there was very formative in my decision to devote my life in service to others after experiencing life in a place where everything a person does is for the benefit of others in need. After graduating from U of L in 2006 I left the nursing home and went to work for OfficeWare, a copier company, and I stayed there for a year while I entered into serious discernment. I left OfficeWare last summer and entered the seminary last fall.

I have been amazed by the many ways God has led me to this point in my life and I feel extremely blessed for the gifts and talents I have been able to develop along the way. I look forward to a productive summer learning from all that the Church of Epiphany has to offer. I am eager to meet, and spend time with all of you during my time here. I have already experienced the extraordinary hospitality that you all share and have had several engaging conversations so far. I invite you to introduce yourselves and I will be happy to answer any questions you may have about seminary life, formation, discernment, or anything else you may like to discus.

Peace,
Adam Carrico
