Reflections on Sunday's Mass: June 28, 2009
Today is the 13th Sunday in Ordinary Time. Our readings are:
Today’s readings remind us that all of God’s creation is good and holy. It was through the envy of devil that sickness, death, and destruction entered our world. However, the healing touch of God is made available to all who accept it, who have faith enough to ask for wholeness and life.
Paul reminds us that we who are brothers and sisters of Jesus Christ are richly blessed. In the previous chapter, he rejoiced with the Corinthians about their willingness to respond to God’s grace and repent. In today’s reading, Paul challenges them to share generously with those in need – with the graciousness shown by Jesus Christ.
Thoughts for the week:
- How have you sought the ever present blessings of God?
- In what way have you received from another – his/her spiritual or material blessings?
- In what way have you shared your own blessings - spiritual, material and time?
Note: Last week a collection for the Propagation of the Faith was collected. If you were not prepared to help and wish to do so, you can use the envelopes found on the table in the back of church.
