Prayer reflections

This is Truly a God Circle

Hi All-

Tonight at mass, we were given the opportunity to bless the Hope Beads that will be shared with our Homebound Brothers and Sisters during the June visits from our Community Care Visitors.  It is wonderful when we can see one end of the circle touch the other.  Chris and I have had the blessing of being part of so many pieces of this circle.  As you know we are partnering on this prayer team, but we also have been working with Chris Luken and the youth group including our son Noah through to Mark our rosary bracelet maker and our beading teacher through to the Homebound, where both my father and grandmother will experience the Hope of the campaign from home.  With the exception of Honduras we have been all the way around the circle...We pray that each of you may experience the joy of these connections as we have, as our Hope continues to grow and thrive!!!!

Spirit of God, Breathe on Us

This prayer reflection was shared at a Building a Future of Hope Campaign gathering this past week. It captures the heart of what this campaign effort is all about: Deepening our "Connectiveness" with our God, with one another, and with the wider human family. It also invokes the Holy Spirit who makes this all possible.

I invite you to perhaps make this a part of your individual and/or family prayer in these 10 days leading up to our parish birthday celebration and Committment Sunday.

SPIRIT OF GOD, BREATHE ON US

0 God, the source of our common life,

when we are dry and scattered,

when we are divided and alone,

we long for connection, we long for community.

Spirit of God, breathe on us.

                   With those we live beside,

who are often strange to us,

whom we may be afraid to approach,

Deeper Thoughts...

We had asked this couple to share some deeper thoughts on prayer, how to pray about this "Campaign of Hope", and how meaningful it can be.  Well, we wanted to share with you this absolutely beautiful entry!

Please read this and share with us;

It really isn't anything special, but we always say grace before each meal.  At the end of grace, we usually mention a list of family and friends that we are praying for.  Once we received the Capital Campaign information, we ended each meal prayer with "... and God, please help us decide how we can contribute to our capital campaign".

We would be thinking about it as well - and at times we would discuss our reflections, concerns and where we were  regarding an amount.  After praying about it for awhile, we realized how much we enjoyed our season tickets for UofL football and basketball.  And we also realized how much enjoyment we get from going to church at Epiphany.  So we knew that we could contribute the same amount we do for our season tickets to the campaign.

Hopefully, this provides you some additional insight.  Thanks!

A couple's prayerful reflection on the Capital Campaign

When we first heard about the Capital Campaign, we thought "here we go again, the church wants more money!"  But the closer we examined the campaign materials, it became clearer to us that this effort is more than just raising money.  There are a lot of great initiatives that these funds are going to be used for, especially the wonderful plans for our Church here at Epiphany.

Since we were part of the Epiphany Capital Campaign Leadership Team, we were provided the opportunity to make our pledge early.  After much prayer and discussion, we reached the point where we were very comfortable with our pledge amount.  For us, it wasn't about "how much money is left over from our budget to contribute".  Rather, it was "we want to contribute this amount because we believe in all the good that is going to come from our sacrifice".  We are excited to contribute and look forward to our collective efforts in reaching our goal.

We are praying for everyone in our Parish to take the time to consider their role in our campaign.  We hope everyone takes the time to pray for God's guidance in this effort.

I am here...

Hi -I'm here...

And I find it so very easy to see the connections...

As I went through the doors of church tonight, the week filled with "craziness", specifically illness, waiting, deadlines, required paperwork, and messy family stuff, melted away.

The people that greeted me as I approached had something to share that helped take it away...

And the amazing thing is that I came to greet others with our new Prayer Markers...

In case you don't have one yet, get one so that you can join in a new prayer life with others...

And when you come back to this site you can talk about the amazing connections that you have come across this week...

It might be someone you met or their story...

Welcome!

Hi!  Is anyone out there?  The Prayer Team is looking to connect with you!
