Healing Blankets "Thank You" notes...

A couple of weeks ago I received a package in the mail from my sister and brother-in-law. When I finally realized what it was, I felt like a child at Christmas. The blanket, the letter and the prayer booklet meant more to me than anything I can remember in a long time. Thank you for the prayers. God bless you and your ministry.

I want to thank you for my healing blankets. The first one I received was at a time when I was going through radiation treatments at Brown Cancer center. The blanket gave me much strength and peace of mind when I covered myself with it. The second blanket was given to me when I attended our Liturgical Study Group. At the end of our meeting, we gathered in a group around me and wrapped the blanket around my shoulders and we said prayers. I was going to have surgery the next day. This little ceremony was so beautiful. I felt very blessed and safe. I think the healing blanket ministry is doing a wonderful service to anyone who needs that little extra attention at a time when their spirits are very low. Thank you again.

I want to thank your parish for the beautiful healing blanket. I am not a parishioner at your church, but my friend is. I kept the blanket with me during my lumpectomy, bi-lateral mastectomy, and my chemo treatments. It is very comforting to think of all of the prayers I have been receiving and feeling. My prognosis is good and I will be fine. Thank you again for being such a caring parish. Sad to say, I've never heard from my own parish. Life is good!

I want to thank you and the parish for your healing blanket that I received for my husband. He is home bound and his shoulders are always cold, so he uses it every day. I think it is a wonderful ministry that you are performing. The prayer book is lovely. I read it every day. With my husband sick, sometimes I feel all alone and your prayers have really helped me. Your parish is a wonderful parish. I have heard so many wonderful things about it and would like to attend Mass one day. Keep up your wonderful ministry. It helps us old folks so much.

Many many thanks for this beautiful healing blanket. I am putting it to good use - remembering all of you each time I cover myself with it. I pray for those who made it, those who sent it, others who have one and all of Epiphany. With this blanket I can continue to be Epiphany to all I meet.

I have never been more touched than when I received the hand made blanket and prayer book at the Kentucky Cancer Center. My mastectomy has healed well. I've drawn so close to God to get me through this. The chemo and radiation are brutal. I've been told I'm cancer free but it is easy to lose hope. Thanks to a caring group of parishioners from my heart.

What a gift! A healing blanket and booklet were given to me recently. I had surgery for a possible recurrence of breast cancer. I have tried to write all week but have spent my time crying since receiving the blanket. "Prayer does not change God - it changes us" - that has thundered in my ears. I must have really had a changed week - my husband too! We are so grateful for the prayers and the ministry you have shared with us!

My husband received a prayer blanket. He was so pleased with the booklet. There were two poems or prayers in the booklet that comforted him when he was anxious. He or one of us read them to him many times. "My Lord God and A Psalm for the dying". When he passed we used those prayers at his funeral.
